It finally came to pass. These were not temporary quarantines, as preposterous, pointless, and harmful as those were. These were actual detention camps, and they were come into being on May 23, 2022, in the United States. They were to be run by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and those detained would be migrants who could not or cannot show proof of “vaccination” and who decline any proddings to be “vaccinated” against Covid.
As NBC News explained on April 1, 2022, with the impending termination of Title 42:
DHS officials say they are bracing for a surge of more than 170,000 migrants after May 23 — but are also ramping up Covid vaccinations at the border and will place some unvaccinated immigrants in detention facilities….
Going further, NBC pointed out:
DHS and State Department officials told reporters on Friday they will put in place a program at the border to encourage immigrants to get vaccinated. One official said DHS is already offering 2,000 Covid vaccinations at 11 locations along the southern border daily, with plans to increase to 6,000 vaccinations at 27 locations before May 23. Those who refuse to be vaccinated and cannot prove they were previously vaccinated will be sent to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention, if they are single adults, or released with “more stringent conditions,” if they are families.
“Alternatives to detention,” could include the use of electronic ankle-monitors.
Title 42’s revocation did not happen in 2022. However, with the end of the emergency used to sustain the policy, it means that detention could once again become a fact this May, unless the US officially announces an end to all vaccination requirements for all foreigners entering the US, legally or not.
The important point is that a Western government had official plans to place “unvaccinated” people into detention camps, if they refused the shots on entering the country. While many stories of detention camps circulated among freedom activists these past three years, pointing to developments that did not materialize—the one instance where such camps were a fact was generally met with silence (if you know of exceptions, please post a source in the comments).
Where did the Freedom Movement Go?
Weren’t detention camps one of the things which the “freedom movement” preaching “non-compliance” feared the most? Wasn’t the claim that the authorities would put the unvaccinated into such camps one of the reasons for which they were accused of being “conspiracy theorists”?
Look at how far things have gone now that detention camps have become an official reality, where even in Telegram there has been silence on this particular issue. There can be no greater indictment of the failures of the “freedom movement” which, if it ever really existed, certainly cannot be said to exist any longer.
And what a masterstroke of political genius from those around and behind Biden—the perfect move, to which neither the Democrat base nor the MAGA base would object.
For most Democrats, this squared perfectly with their orchestrated hypochondria and their devoted hysteria around all things Covid. For them it was a public health issue.
For Trump’s MAGA base, seeing “Mexicans” captured and stuffed into detention centres run by ICE, would have likely sounded like a great idea that was long overdue. For them this was a sovereignty issue, a border issue, a “keep the wetbacks” out issue.
Both sides were played. So both sides remained silent.
It turns out there never really was a blurring of the lines between left and right. Both continue to exist as such. The only thing that is blurred is their vision, their judgment, and their integrity.
Meanwhile the basic human rights of these migrants who have thus far been spared the experimental shots, were violated. They were to be set apart from all others, and made into an example.
First them, then us. That is how precedents work.
You all just silently agreed that it is fine.
