In Quebec they already arrested and charged a man just for photoshopping blood onto a candidate's sign, as a way of indicating that he had blood on his hands for voting against an inquest into all the seniors' deaths in CHSLDs--it wasn't a death threat, as should have been obvious. Fear of Covid is turning back to fear of the masses in Canada as well, but on a delayed schedule. Watch them paint Poilievre increasingly as a threat to democracy, just as they paint Duhaime as a bringer of "discontent" into the National Assembly.
About those "dimwitted" Canadians you speak of...with whom I am intimately familiar...I think this quote pretty much sums up the situation:
