Imagining / Imaging Pandemics: This project first started in Telegram in June of 2022, as a special series focusing on how Hollywood, and the commercial film industry generally, have imagined and projected epidemics and pandemics for nearly a century now. We look at how Hollywood has been shaped by official and popular discourse, then reshaped both of those in turn.

This is a selection of key papers originally published on Zero Anthropology Magazine (ISSN 2562-9948). Any future papers will be added here as well.

These books are in THE NEW IMPERIALISM series, dating from 2010-2015. They emerged from my advanced seminars in Sociology & Anthropology at Concordia University in Montreal, also titled "The New Imperialism". Most chapters were written by students, and were vetted, revised, and edited. Unfortunately, many of the topics are still timely.
