Consolidating the Infrastructure of Dictatorship in Canada
"Democracy" is only for those who already agree with the ruling party
When related releases of information all happen at the same time, one has little choice but to add them all up. It’s clear that the federal Canadian government is creating the infrastructure necessary for the permanent exercise of dictatorial control.
First, CSIS releases a “report” stating that those who questioned the dominant Covid narrative, and who question authority, are in many cases linked to what it calls “ideologically motivated violent extremism”. No examples of any actual “violent extremism” are provided. CSIS states in that report:
“violent extremists continue to exploit the pandemic by amplifying false information about government measures, the COVID-19 vaccine and the virus itself on the internet”.
CSIS does not explain which information is “false”. Even though Public Health Canada knew that vaccines did not prevent infection or transmission, Trudeau implemented federal vaccine mandates—CSIS apparently does not consider that to be a policy based on false information, motivated by extremism, which provoked distrust toward the authorities. As The Counter Signal put it, “Canadians who undermine trust in Canada’s institutions are seen by CSIS as a particular threat to national security — regardless as to whether said institutions have earned or lost trust”. (You can read the CSIS report here.)
CSIS thus effects the shift from declaring that some Canadians (very few in actuality) question authority to declaring them to be targets of the national security state because they are “violent extremists” (who have committed no violence).
Second, the ruling Liberal Party of Canada has formally adopted a policy that urges the government to take action against publishers of information, particularly “online information services,” whose sources cannot be “traced”. Had any government disliked by the regime adopted this stance, cries of indignation would have immediately followed. Instead, Canadian regime media prepared a soft landing for Trudeau: they quickly reported that Trudeau claimed his government would never implement his own party’s policy, and we are to take him at his word.
Third, Trudeau’s assertion that his government would not target journalists was already laid bare as false, at the very same national convention where the policy was adopted. Clearly Trudeau is working with a skewed definition of “journalism,” such that some are in, and many others are out. The journalists belonging to the out group immediately got another taste of Trudeau’s commitments to freedom of the press and to allowing the media to question the authorities. Rebel News was prevented from reporting on the proceedings. Rebel News was expelled after being smeared by a Liberal staffer as being the voice of “extremist, far-right views”. Even if that were perfectly accurate, it would mean that in Canada one is allowed to have free speech, and press freedom, only if one already agrees with the ruling party. By that standard, Nazi Germany and Stalinist Russia were among the freest and most democratic countries in history.
Fourth, we saw a clear example of an outcome that can be generated by this kind of policy, drawing on the example of the UK. There Ofcom, the country’s media regulator, declared that Dr. Naomi Wolf and Mark Steyn had violated its broadcasting rules by disseminating information that put the perception of the alleged “safety” of the gene delivery platforms in doubt. GB News was sanctioned as a result (admittedly, I do not yet know what that means in practice).
Though the regime may appear to be in retreat on some fronts (ending mandates; ending emergencies; key officials in the US resigning, etc.), elsewhere it appears to be repairing and retooling. There have been no official apologies, no reparations, no truth and justice commissions, no tribunals. Only when we see public confessions and convictions for the criminal harms comitted in the name of “fighting Covid,” will we know that the next assault has been prevented.
I dare CSIS to find anything I published in my 188-page report on C19 abuses false. https://fournier.substack.com/p/the-covid-19-holocaust-comparison-7fa
No acknowledgment of Wrongs!! Until then.....
